If your question isn't here, ask us. We'll answer it, and then add it here.
Where things stand
Can my church sign up today?
Not yet. Chapelbook is built and in testing, and it isn't open to the public. We are taking founding churches: join the list and we'll write back. Joining the list doesn't sign you up for anything and costs nothing. The features page says what is built and what is on the way.
What happens when I join the list?
Your answers are emailed to us, we read them, and we write or call to talk about your church. They aren't sold or shared. The privacy page says exactly what is collected.
Price
Is it really $59 a month for every church?
Yes. One flat price, everything included, no tiers by size. Very large churches (1,000 or more people) may be quoted separately. The only optional extra is the texting pack ($15 per extra 1,000), which stays off unless you turn it on.
What does Breeze cost for comparison?
Tithely lists Church Management at $72 a month. Its custom church app is $89 more, or you can take the $119 All Access bundle, and card gifts cost 2.9% plus 30 cents. These are Tithely's published prices as of October 1, 2026. Sources are on the switching page.
Switching from Breeze
Is Breeze going away?
Tithely says Breeze is now Tithely Church Management and that existing churches are being moved to its Tithely 3.0 platform in phases. Tithely also says "some older, standalone tools will be phased out." We don't know when your church will be moved, so ask Tithely. Sources.
How do I move my people and giving history?
Export from Breeze, then import the files into Chapelbook. You match the columns, preview what will happen, import, and can roll the whole import back with one click. Here are the steps. We'll go over your totals with you before you cancel Breeze.
Has the import been used on a real church yet?
No. It's been built to Breeze's documented file layouts and tested on sample files. We'll run it on your real export with you, and we won't ask you to cancel Breeze first.
Can I keep Givelify?
You can import Givelify giving files so your statements cover everything. Online giving inside Chapelbook uses Zeffy.
Giving
How does the church keep 100% of giving?
Online gifts go through Zeffy, which says it charges nonprofits nothing and is supported by optional tips from donors. Your church keeps the gift. Donors decide whether to leave a tip. Chapelbook does not touch the money.
Do we need our own Zeffy account?
Yes. Zeffy needs an EIN and a bank account in the organization's name. You make the account yourself. Zeffy's help also says its US tax receipts are only for registered 501(c)(3) organizations. Many churches are tax-exempt without having applied for a letter, so check with your own advisor. Chapelbook's year-end statements are separate and cover every gift, including cash, checks and Givelify.
Is the Zeffy connection live?
It's built and tested against a stand-in. We confirm it with a real payment before a church depends on it.
Do you offer text-to-give?
Not yet, and we aren't promising it. It depends on what Zeffy supports.
Are the year-end statements ready for tax time?
They include the sentence the IRS expects for gifts to a church where only intangible religious benefits were provided. Emailing statements stays locked until your church confirms a CPA has reviewed the wording. We are not tax advisors.
Texting
How many texts are included?
500 two-way texts a month, sent from your church's own local number. Replies count toward the 500. Push notifications and email aren't counted.
What happens at the limit?
Texts are held, a banner shows in the app and your admin gets an email. They are not silently dropped. You can turn on a pack of $15 per extra 1,000. It's off unless you switch it on.
When will texting be ready?
Texting is available only after your church's number is registered with the carriers. We won't promise a date. The registration needs your EIN and takes time.
Your data
Can I get my data out?
Yes. A full export of everything, as CSV and JSON, in one click, any day. You don't have to ask us.
Can another church see our people?
No. Every church's data is separated inside the database itself, and automated tests check that people in one church can't read another church's records. Roles also limit who sees what within a church. Giving is visible to finance roles and the donor. Pastoral notes can be limited to the pastor.
What about children's information?
Children are records managed by their parents and the church. They don't have logins. Laws about children's data, including COPPA and Arkansas's 2026 children's online privacy law, are being reviewed by an attorney before any church uses Chapelbook. See the legal page.
Who are your service providers?
The plan is Supabase for the database, Vercel for hosting, Resend for email, and Twilio for texting. Your church's own Zeffy account handles giving. The final list will be in the privacy policy.
Using it
Is there an app in the app store?
Not yet. Chapelbook installs to your phone's home screen from the browser and works like an app. A store app is planned for later.
Can it run our website?
No. Chapelbook isn't a website builder. You can embed its calendar on any website, and its forms have their own links and QR codes.
Is it made for big churches?
It's made for small and mid-size churches that want less to manage, not more.
